    JOB SUMMARY:

    This individual will be responsible for all data security oversight and activities for the organization and its vendors.

       

    Responsibilities

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

     

    • Develop and maintain all data security policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory and organization requirements.
    • Monitor, test and audit operations to ensure compliance with data security policies and procedures.
    • Conduct a data security assessment prior to the organization selecting software and partnering with vendors.
    • Coordinate and oversee regular data security risk assessments, document gaps, develop remediation plans and manage their execution.
    • Coordinate and oversee system penetration and vulnerability testing on an ongoing basis.
    • Assist in the development of the data security elements of the Model Audit Rule (MAR) audit plan, test and maintain on an ongoing basis.
    • Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan through close interaction with IT and all operational areas of the organization and its vendors.
    • Research and maintain current and appropriate knowledge of data security regulations and remediation, as they relates to a health plan.

     

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    Required:   BA/BS degree in Information Systems or equivalent IT experience

    • Effective presentation skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Effective ability to conduct meetings with all levels of management within the organization.
